EV Charging Guide

Charging an electric vehicle in Indonesia has never been easier, but understanding your options helps you get the most out of ownership.

Home Charging

The most convenient option for most owners. A standard 2.2 kW home charger (included with your BYD) plugs into any grounded 220V outlet. For faster overnight top-ups, a 7.4 kW wallbox can be installed by a certified electrician and will fully charge your BYD Atto 3 in around 7 hours.

Public Charging Networks

  • PLN Mobile Charging — the largest network, available at PLN offices and growing retail locations nationwide
  • Shell Recharge — fast chargers at select Shell stations
  • BYD Dealership Chargers — free top-ups available during service visits at our showroom

DC Fast Charging

For long-distance travel, DC fast chargers can deliver 80% charge in under 50 minutes. Look for CCS2-compatible stations along major toll corridors.

Tips for New Owners

Keep your battery between 20–80% for daily use to preserve long-term health. Only use DC fast charging when you need it. The BYD app lets you schedule charging to take advantage of off-peak electricity rates.
